- I really long for a deeper, more intimate relationship with Jesus.
- I’m really struggling in some areas right now, and need to find another woman I can trust to walk side-by-side with me through this.
- I’ve been through some really tough times in my life and I’d love to share what I have learned with others to hopefully encourage them in their life journey.
- I have a heart for praying for others and would like to find a way to use this gift.
- I’m in a new season of my life and would love to connect with others who are experiencing the same.
If so, you are invited to join the Lake Pointe Church Woman-to-Woman Mentoring Ministry. We are a community of authentic, like-minded women who help and support each other as we seek to find our purpose spiritually and personally. This Ministry is based on Titus 2:3-5.
Our goal is to provide significant, transformational, personal growth through unconditional love, support, and wisdom from God’s word. Women will be encouraged and developed through one-on-one or group relationships. Through a practice of daily quiet time and experiencing the freedom that comes from following God's direction, women will discover who they are in Christ, discern God’s purpose for their lives and be refreshed experiencing God in a new and deeper way.
The Ministry consists of three key roles: Mentor, Mentee, and Prayer Warrior. Mentors are someone with more life experiences and wisdom who can guide Mentees, someone with less experience or who may be experiencing a difficult season in her life. The Prayer Warrior prays daily for God’s hand to guide, teach and bless the Mentor/Mentee relationship.
ORIENTATION Profile Form (please print and complete and bring to on of the following orientation meetings) “This ministry has been such a blessing to me. It’s a place to be authentic and share life experiences with caring women that want to listen. I continue on the life path of learning how to be the woman God wants me to be. This is a place to seek Godly wisdom and the blessing of unconditional love from other women.” Lisa M. “Praying for the women in my Mentoring group has been an absolute privilege this year. Drawing near to these wonderful women, sharing their prayer concerns, rejoicing in answered prayers and witnessing their phenomenal spiritual growth has encouraged me in my own life! Praise God for an awesome experience.” Cindy P.

“The LPC Mentoring was good for me in many ways. It brought me closer to God first of all. I’m grateful to the group for allowing me to step outside my comfort zone. I was able to meet a wonderful woman of God who has been gentle, kind and loving in many ways. I hope the program continues to touch lives as it has touched mine. I know I can take this group with me in my life and show others how wonderful and powerful God works in women.” Mary H.S.
“The time I spent in Woman-to-Woman Mentoring was phenomenal. The friendships God established will last forever and I grew in ways I didn’t even know possible. The trials and eventual victories were sweeter with these women by my side. I have these women as my friends until the day I die and beyond.” Krista G.
“I have been part of the W2W Ministry for 10 years. I have watched 100's of lives transformed, including mine. I think we, as woman, have a hard job juggling all our responsibilities in addition to life's challenges. Women need someone to genuinely listen to them and give Godly direction when they get stuck. That’s what the mentoring program is about. I am proud I have been called to be a part of it.” Pam W.
“If the new smiles, warm heart filled with love, a closeness and newness in my relationship with God, and the great new REAL friendships I’ve made aren’t enough, the bounty of blessings I’ve received and witnessed through my friends is outstanding! God is faithful and loves us all and wants us to love Him back and tell others about Him. Wow, what a life-changing decision I made for the better by joining Mentoring!” Debra L.
“I’ve always been a part of a small group at church, and volunteered in several roles, but was cautious with whom I let get close. I was afraid if they knew about my past it would influence whether I would be accepted. I also had recently had a significant life change and needed to find a new group of women friends. W2W Mentoring was the answer! I’ve found new, true, friends, and my walk with the Lord has been challenged and strengthened. I look forward to the next season of life with this program. Billye T.
Does it cost anything to participate? There is no fee. The only expenses that might be incurred would be for agreed upon study materials, or if you choose to meet at restaurants during meal time.
What can I expect to gain from my participation? That depends on why you are interested in joining. Are you looking for some wisdom and guidance as you seek to find your purpose in life? Are you walking through a difficult life challenge and need someone who might have similar life experiences to encourage you? Are you looking for new friends that share similar values? Do you want to dig deeper into scripture or challenge your prayer life? Have you reached a new chapter in life and would like to assess “what’s next” and establish some updated life goals? Or do you have wisdom and a heart to share it with others? We can help with these and other areas of need and concern.
How do you match a Mentor with a Mentee with a Prayer Warrior? Each woman fills out a detailed, personal profile and indicates the role in which she is interested. An experienced group of women spend hours prayerfully considering all the profiles, and with God’s guidance, “matches” a Mentee (one or more) with a Mentor and a Prayer Warrior.
After I am “matched”, what happens next? Each group decides what meeting day/time/location works best for them. Experience has shown that meeting weekly develops the truest relationships and provides opportunities to walk through life together as it unfolds. Of course there is flexibility in the program, but to get the fullest and richest experience, we strongly encourage weekly commitments.
How long does this program last? The program runs from October-March, wrapping up with a Celebration event in early April.
What happens at our weekly meetings? The first few meetings will be an opportunity to get to know each other, share goals, understand what areas of life you may currently be seeking some wisdom and support, or in what personal growth opportunities you may be interested . Our Mentors have great resources available, and together, the group can determine next steps.
What if I’m concerned about others finding out about my past and that I might be judged and not accepted? Most of us feel this same way at the beginning, so you are not alone. Each member of this ministry has experienced times in their past where they have not made the wisest decisions, and are eager to share how they have found God’s grace and forgiveness and have grown through those challenges. This ministry can provide truly authentic friendships if you are willing to risk being open and honest.
What if I don’t feel like I have been matched with someone who understands what I’m seeking from this ministry? We have leaders on each campus who are committed to ensuring that each person who participates in this ministry will have the richest experience possible. If there is a concern with any placements, just reach out to the appropriate leader to discuss your concerns.
I’ve always enjoyed the dynamics of a larger group setting—does this ministry offer something similar? We do offer the option of participating in a group that includes 2 or more Mentees matched to one Mentor/Prayer Warrior.
Are there more activities than just mentor “meetings”? We plan volunteering and service opportunities, and we are working this year to establish planned and “spur of the moment” fun, social events using social media to reach the ministry members. As social media participation grows, we hope to expand our ministry in this area as well.
There are a million ways we come to understand the nuances of who we are. Most of us have probably taken a personality test of some sort for work or fun. The legitimate ones can be illuminating. Nonetheless, under the right conditions they can be a good catalyst for self-reflection and realization. We inevitably gain self-understanding through our relationships, which can be mirrors to our strengths and weaknesses.
We encourage you to print these three self-knowledge quizzes and take the time to complete and score each one. Bring them with you to the Matching Night event. These can serve as good conversation starters as you get to know your mentor, mentee and prayer warrior.
